Indian Farmers Fertilizer Corporation Ltd. - NPK/DAP trains
After the completion of this project, IFFCO at Kandla became the largest phosphatic fertilizer plant in the country having production capacity of 24.15 lakh MT of DAP/NPK fertilizer.HDO had designed and built all of IFFCO Kandla’s earlier streams of DAP / NPK fertilizer; two streams each in 1975 and 1984.
The new plant was based on Grande Paroisse’s Dual Pipe Reactor technology with a capacity of 60 MTPH for DAP and 75 MTPH for NPK grades 12-32-16 & 10-26-26.
HDO had introduced the pipe reactor technology in India. HDO had successfully revamped MFL and EID Parry’s existing DAP / NPK plants with this technology earlier. This was the first new plant that was constructed with pipe reactor system saving the client utility and energy consumption in the plant.
Accomplishments:
- Repeat orders placed by IFFCO due to HDO’s design, engineering, execution capabilities and excellent client relationships established with the HDO team
- The plant was successfully commissioned and handed over to the client two and half months ahead of schedule.
- HDO’s manufacturing facility at Vatva, Ahmedabad manufactured and supplied the rotary dryer (4 m dia x 33 m length) in two pieces to IFFCO Kandla. This was the largest rotary dryer supplied at the time in the industry
